The Eat Healthy mobile application, one of the three base modules of the MHW e-curriculum, seeks to help children in middle school (ages 9 -13) to develop healthy eating habits. Eat Healthy is integrated with and supports a robust, teacher-led classroom experience, but also extends learning into the home, the school cafeteria, restaurants, and food stores.
Key components of the Eat Healthy application include:
• Favorite Foods – Helping kids to evaluate the nutritional value of the foods they love.
• Food Diary – Helping kids to track the meals they eat on a routine basis.
• Meal Planner – Helping kids to use their creativity to develop balanced meal plans and nutritious recipes.
• Snack Attack – Helping kids to understand the value of snacks in their overall plan for healthy eating.
